Trauma?: Was this the result of an accident, or some traumatic injury? If yes, then need to see an oral surgeon. If you broke your wisdom tooth due to large decay, then it is likely infected, and you need to see an oral surgeon also. ...Read more

Possible abscess: I strongly suspect that decay has gotten under your cap ( crown) and infected the nerve of the tooth. Go see your dentist or an Endodontist. ( root canal specialist). Good luck. ...Read more

Lymph node.: That sounds like a lymph node, which could enlarge in response to an ear or sinus infection. If it eventually goes away completely, say in two to four weeks, then there's no cause for concern, especially if you have symptoms of said infections. Call: Post-op extractions can vary from person to person. The muscles may have suffered some trismus (tightening, spasms,) due to injection/s of the anesthetic, could be a TMJ/TMD issue that has been triggered, could just be the healing process. See dentist: Hard to tell given the brief history but the problem may be from teeth grinding or clenching at night causing dental crack (if that's what you meant). Your tongue swelling may also be from biting (from teeth grinding or malocculsion). I would recommend that you consult a dentist first. If the above conditions have been ruled out, see an allergist to evaluate the tongue swelling. ...Read more

Common: Pretty common with a surgical wisdom tooth and at this time you are going though normal issues with hard lumps etc but I am concerned about the lockjaw and the hard lump at the sometime. I would go back for an evaluation via the dentist or oral surgeon that did the work. No worries ...Read more

Time for the doctor: A person with "awful pain" or "awful swelling" needs to see her doctor to be diagnosed and treated. Having both awful things means a trip to the doctor's office now. If she has no primary care doctor to go to, she can go to the ER. The doctor can examine to see if this is a tooth abscess, a lymph node abscess, or something else. ...Read more
