I have Hemoglobin (low iron) is there anything I can do? Or any medications, vitamins I could take to fix this?

Ok then: We all have hemoglobin. Some have low hemoglobin (anemia), of which one of the types of anemia is due to low iron. Discuss with your doctor as this is many times due to blood loss, and it's sometimes necessary to treat what's causing the iron deficiency, and not just replacing iron. But in meantime you can probably start some simple Iron supplements. The pharmacist can point them out to you. ...Read more

My yr old baby is unable to sleep thru the night. He is taking iron, calcium, vitamin d sachets as asked by his pediatrician. Why is he in discomfort?

Discomfort vs awake?: It is not uncommon for 1 year old infants to wake at night, not always from discomfort but sometimes teething, sometimes looking for caregiver. If they are used to falling asleep by themselves without a pacifier, bottle, or being rocked at night, then they will often roll over and settle back down. If they fall asleep while nursing or being rocked, then when they wake, they need the same comfort. ...Read more

Is 10 mg of iron in a multi vitamin too much if I do not need extra iron? I took a multi with this amount for the last three days.

Not a problem: If you get enough iron in your diet (e.g., meats, beans, fortified cereals), and are not low on it somehow (e.g., women losing it with heavy periods) you won't need to take extra iron. However, the amount you mentioned is not a lot of iron. For comparison, a packet of oatmeal has approximately 11 mg of iron. ...Read more

I'm taking prenatal vitamin and iron. But I have read that prenatal vitamin contain iron too. It will not be an overdose of iron if im taking both?

The main reasons: Your doctor would recommend an additional iron supplement to your prenatal vitamin is that your prenatal vitamin does not contain the recommended amount (30 mg daily) or your iron level was found to be low/you were told you are anemic. A prenatal vitamin and an iron supplement taken together will often not be tolerated without nausea; separate them. Check with Doc if further questions. Good luck:) ...Read more
