My autistic bipolar 5 year old daughter keeps having behaviors were she tries to kill animals with no feelings of saddness us that a normal behavior?

It's not good: What you described has been considered by some experts as an indicator for more severe problems later on in life. Cruelty to animals is not that uncommon, and there are professionals out there who know what to do about it. Animals must be kept away from your daughter at all times. Also, a system should be in place ahead of time to deal with such behaviors. I am sorry that your daughter has this. ...Read more

Would a four year child be traumitized by the death of his/ her parents?

Do teen pregnancy statistics mix the 18-19 yr old adults with the 16-17 year olds?

Most news stories do not usually clarify that. For accurate numbers go to the national campaign to prevent teen pregnancy website. They are a well funded nonpartisan group with accurate information. ...Read more

Will a flat spot on a child's head, older than 2 years old, continue to minimize over time as their head grows? We were told our sons head would round

The practice of: putting babies to sleep on their backs has contributed to more "flat heads." Some have treated this with a helmut, usually at 4-12 months of age, though it is not clear this is more effective than trying to avoid lying on back during the day.As the child and his skull grows, the flattening will improve. It may not be perfectly symmetrical, but is not a cosmetic/social/brain development problem ...Read more

However, that is far from universal and more related to immaturity than adhd per se. ...Read more
