If I am taking treatment for shingles, am I still contagious? what can I do to not spread the chickenpox virus with people around me?

Confusing question: You cannot catch shingles from an affected person but if susceptible, you could get chickenpox. If you have had Cpx before you will not be at risk from this person. If a person has no good immunity to the zoster virus (never caught chicken pox, is immunosuppressed, never got the vaccine, or got the vaccine but didn't make enough antibodies) then he can get a case of chicken pox from the virus in the open, moist skin lesions of the shingles patient.
