Chest Xray Shows Lingular Nodule On Lung
My cousin had his chest X-ray today and the radiologist said to him that his lung is enlarged and his heart is not visible.?
Kind of Weird: I'd say that is kind of weird. I suggest before you put much stock into what you ever learn in any x ray department, you wait and discuss the results with the doctor who ordered the x ray. A lot of misinformation comes from x ray department employees. I know that will offend some folks, but that is my experience. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient. At the same time, co2 diffuses into the capilaries and is expelled with exhalation. Oxygen rich blood then flows to the left side of the heart and into the ...Read more

I have an 11 mm spiculated right lung base nodule, that was detected 8.19.2015, and was not present in the chest x-ray from 5.20.2014?
Can you explain results of chest X-ray led 2 cat scan, which led 2 pet scan. results are multiple nodules. what causes lung nodules?
Multiple: There are many causes for pulmonary nodules, which can be broken down into benign or malignant. There are a large number of causes for benign nodules, and 95% of nodules seen on CT scan are benign. If the nodule is large enough, a biopsy may be recommended. The initial move is to see if the same mass was present on a previous scan. PET scans are used to add information, but should not be done firs ...Read more
My mom was diagnosed with bilateral nodules in the lungs by a chest X-ray and CT scan. The doctor told her that her system is good and there is no sign or symptom of any disease. But i'm worried. What should I do?
CT is better: If the ct either found nothing in the lungs (meaning the chest xray findings were overlapping structures or outside the lungs) or what was found was clearly benign on the ct scan, then there is nothing to worry about. This assumes a high quality ct scan read by a competent radiologist. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My latest chest xray shows an exacerbation of the left lung. What does this mean? My chest xray shows a shadowy blur along the bottom of my left lung and i continue to cough all the time. What can I do for the cough.
Simply : Simply described, a lung exacerbation is decreased lung function due to an infection or inflammation. The shadowy blur on your xray is to be evaluated by a radiologist for diagnosis as exacerbation can occur as a result of infection or several other medical conditions (for example: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or cystic fibrosis) lung exacerbation can cause shortness of breath, increased coughing, fatigue and decreased pulmonary function. Based on your results, your doctor will develop a treatment regimen that can include any of the following: antibiotics (to fight an infection), a cough expectorant to loosen fluids, a diuretic to decrease fluid build up, coughing and deep breathing to mobilize fluids and incentive spirometry (a device where the patient sucks air to move a ball to a goal point, promoting deep breathing.) as your body heals, coughing may increase as fluids get mobilized. Your doctor can prescribe a medication that can ease the pain associated with coughing. Give your doctor a call. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
