Probably not cardiac: What you are describing is more likely chest wall (musculoskeletal) discomfort than a cardiac cause. This, of course, requires a real evaluation if the symptoms do not improve with conservative therapies, like rest, local heat, mild analgesics, and avoiding any exacerbating activity. Cardiologist: I would recommend for you to go to a cardiologist. He will probably get an EKG and depending on its findings recommend particular managements. Interestingly enough the treatment for pericarditis would worsen gastritis since it is basically NSAIDS. Good Luck C ...Read more

Check with your doc: Chest pains can come from narrowed arteries in the heart. However this usually occurs with exertion and resolves with rest. A pain in the chest at night could also be from acid reflux or some other GI problem. Or it even could be from some muscular or rib pain.
