My ankel bruised last night and became swolen. But no injury occured to create this. It was aldo accompanied by sharp chest pain. What is this?
A Leg Up On YourPain: Any swelling in the legs accompanied by sharp chest pains should be taken seriously. How, you ask, are the two connected? Well, if a clot forms in the leg, the leg will swell-- and if part of the clot breaks-off it can go into your lung and cause pain, shortness of breath, plus other nasty things. The textbooks describe people prone to this problem. Let your doctor figure it out.
What could cause chest pain in 5yo during chest pt vest tx? Same settings as usual. Usually singing. Lately pain whining. No growth/bruises/scrapes.
Try another brand?: If the child and the vest have been evaluated at the pediatric pulmonologist's office, and everything seems to be working as it's supposed to, then that does sound mysterious. If it is agreed that a vest is still needed, maybe one can try a different brand of vest, or use it at a different time of day. Is the child being taken away from an activity because he has to go use the vest?

Chest wall problem: Hi. There is not enough information here to really guess at a cause. I wish we knew your age; that helps make some more or less likely. Your symptoms sound like some issue with the chest wall, which could include trauma, broken rib, costochondritis, pleuritis, etc, etc. It's been going on for 6 months...probably time to go see your doctor.

Could I have a blood clot if I fell down stairs, have a bump on my butt, feel faint, big bruise covering my whole cheel chest pain, difficult to walk?
Probably not: Typically, blood clots in the veins are associated with inactivity, not trauma. A DVT usually gives you leg swelling and a "charley horse" feeling deep in the muscle of the calf. The bump on your butt could be a blood clot in the soft tissues (hematoma). The chest pain could be a chest wall contusion (bruise) or even a rib fracture. I suggest you get checked out by your doctor.See 1 more doctor answer

Why might 5yo have chest pain during percussive vest pt? Post albuterol, no injuries, no bruises.
Do it with Dr. There: Not sure why, but kids "say the darndest things". To really see what is going on, the doctor has to be there from beginning to end. The easiest way to do that is to make an appointment to go to the doctor's office and do the albuterol treatment and chest pt while the doctor is there.
I've been having chest pain in the center of my chest, passing out, and random bruising. Ekg and X-ray came back fine. What is this?
Passing out: Seems like you are hearing a murmur. Chest pain, syncope and murmur in an young female is concerning. You need an echo to rule out left ventricular outflow tract obstrction (lvot obstruction) or other valvular abnormalities. In addition, you need 24 hour holter and/or 30 day event monitor, depends upon frequency of your symptoms. Do not drive until completion of work-up. Consult a cardiologist.
Could bruised leg from 8months ago be in anyway related to chest pain (under left breast) I'm experiencing now?
Possibly: If you have a very severe leg bruise, it is possible it might have left you susceptible to forming a blood clot in your leg. And if a clot formed and broke off and went into your lungs, known as a pulmonary embolus, it could cause chest pain. Most patients though who have a pulmonary embolus feel very short of breath, and the chest pain is stabbing and hurts more with breathing. Call your md.
