Chest wall strain : if you had cough so long it can cause strain of chest wall muscles, tendons,ribs...pain in chest, especially with derp breath, sneezing.change of position. #1 treat cough! if gone #2 keep deep breathing exercises - ok to use Advil (ibuprofen) if tolerated up to 800 mg every 8 hours . Broad differential: Could be many things. Fact that it went away raises the question of an overuse syndrome from say performing some repetitive work chore, etc. Other possibilities include some form of arthritis.
