Right sided chest pain all day. I could reproduce it. Upper back pain.1 left side chest pain, same as right side. Can't reproduce. Doc says heart ok.

Myofascial pain: You might be able to find tender knots and ropes in chest and upper back muscles. Suggest seeing a specialist who knows about myofascial pain. Most of the pain in the body comes from injury to muscle and fascia, and the inflammation in the injured tissue that comes from food that is not good for us.

My son and I went to see a heart doctor yesterday, they said he was fine, he is sometimes out of breath and has chest pain, what should we do next?

Pediatric consult?: Intermittent chest discomfort / tightness assoc. With shortness of breath may originate from the respiratory system or may reflect panic symptoms. Can feel pulse left side under ribs in sync with heart whn sitting or lying down. Been at a&e last night for chest pain they say anxiety/reflux. Is this normal? I was examined and doc didn't say anyt

Common.: Anxiety can make you become hyperaware of your heart beating, rapid pulse and worry that they are having a heart attack. Reflux esophagitis can actually cause chest pains. If your doctor examined you and found a problem in your heart, I am sure he would have warned you. Do not be afraid to ask questions and get some explanations. ...Read more

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as panic attacks, which are common is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room. ...Read more

Left side chest pain for over a year now. Comes & goes but been here for 2 weeks recently. Normal ekg + chest xray. Doc says anxiety? Could b heart?

Chest pains: Your chest pains are unlikely to be caused by a heart problem in view of a normal examination, your age, and normal ekg and chest xray. A common cause would be a pinched or irritable intercostal nerve or chest wall muscle which causes sharp, shooting pains with a deep breath or certain chest movement. Inflammation of the joint between the sternum and a rib is another cause and tenderness is common. ...Read more

Low bp on home monitor 90/62 and bp at doctors while ago 130/70.which is accurate. Heart palpitations and chest pain, doc says anxiety 19 year old femal?

Both likely okay: You are likely more relaxed at home and the lower reading is likely to reflect that. At the office you are likely more anxious and that could raise it some. Make sure the batteries in your home unit are fresh & it is good to take you level 3 times over a 5-minute period & average the nuber. These devices are seldom as accurate as the ones at a docs office. ...Read more

Post dinner felt hot, less than 5 min. Nausea 25min. Feels like lump between shoulders. No chest pain/shortness of breath. Fear of mi. Doc says heart ok.

Colic: Your symptom complex can be consistent with gallbladder disease/biliary colic. I'm glad you've been evaluated for heart disease. If hd has truly been ruled out, I suggest investigation of your biliary system, for stones or cholecystitis. In the meantime, I suggest a very low fat diet until the biliary tract has been cleared. Reflux disease is also a consideration. Good luck. ...Read more

Reflux/ spasm: The symptoms you describe could be due to stomach acid which would be expected to show up after eating. The acid can cause esophageal spasm and a feeling of a lump or pressure between the shoulder blades. The Worst offenders for foods include acids like tomato, spicy food, alcohol, chocolate. Heart issues are less likely in a young female like yourself. ...Read more

37 M with normal echo stress chol and bp. No fam his or smoke. Fear of heart attack scarin me. Mild chest pain sob doc says acid reflux. Hate my life!

The true statement: of the greatest concern is "Hate my life!" You are at relatively low risk without significant risks other than being male. Symptoms are unlikely to be cardiac and it sounds like you have been evaluated. Find a counselor to deal with the real problem not the somatized cardiac symptoms. Your heart is broken but it is not diseased. Get help. Counseling does not mean you are crazy. Love your life again. ...Read more

Nothing: If you haven't had the echo, then the diagnosis of mvp has not been established. Even if you do have it, mvp does not cause these symptoms. Doctors blame all kinds of things on mvp but they are not related. There is no treatment required for mvp and none that is helpful. If the wait for an echo is that long then you are in the wrong health system. ...Read more
