Not likely heart: Most common causes of chest pain in your age bracket are gastroesphageal reflux or musculoskeletal pain. Belching common symptom of gerd. Can cause change in appetite or difficulty swallowing? Further workup of pain can include upper gastrointestinal series, endoscopy of esophagus and stomach, etc. Most of time GERD helped with proper medications. Gerd: You probably have gastroesophageal reflux with acid refluxing out of the stomach and causing your symptoms. Overweight, chocolate and some meds can aggravate the condition. Medicines to suppress acid production have been helpful. A GI evaluation and egd may be required to confirm the process. Wt loss would help cause less symptoms.
