I have digestive issues with IBS. I have had episodes that last a few minutes where I belch frequently and have chest pain in the center of my chest.
Not unusual.: If the chest pain follows belching, it is not unusual. It is probably related to acid refluxing into the esophagus (food tube) that was elevated by gas bubbles. Calcium carbonate tablets (Tums) or simethicone (Gas-X), or both, may help with symptoms.
