Went to ER today for chest pains after running, was a panic attack. Some liver counts where high though. AST=75 and ALT=82. Should I be worried?
You in condition?: If your doctor has cleared you for that type of physical exertion then, "NO" your LFT's being a bit elevated is of no consequence. Those numbers are always changing like blood pressure. They go up and down depending on a lot of things....I wouldn't worry about it. Have your panic attacks looked at though as those may be more debilitating than anything else for you right now. ...Read more

Possibly-don't panic: At 24 you are young for concern, but any chest pain, espec in a smoker, should be eval at least clinically. Simply more hx could poss allow for a more definitive answer. Can stress trigger chest pain? Short of running to the ER each time, are their different presentations between anxiety related and ischemic related?
Chest pain while running for about 4 minutes last night. Got EKG 2 months ago and all looked fine. It was mild and stopped after I finished running.
Key to chest pain
1) Did it hurt because it was cold outside? Did you breathing hurt?
2) Oppressive chest pain? Radiation? Did it get better when you stop exercising? Has this happened before? Do you have history of Heart disease?
If you are 26, and this has not happened again it is unlikely that it is cardiac in nature. A rest EKG doesn't mean much illiciting ischemia though.
