I have shoulder and chest pain after a fall. could it be muscle pain? Or a break?- there is no brushing but agony to inhale, cough etc...

Could be a fracture

Chest_pain
Suzy, the answer won't be clear without an X-ray. Your symptoms are consistent with both a bruise and possibly a rib fracture. Pain can be quite severe with a cough or deep inspiration if it is a fracture as the ribs will move considerably with deep breaths. Your risk of fracture depends on your age, sex and height of the fall. Let pain be your guide for seeking doctor evaluation and work up.

could chest pain now be related to a fall 3 months ago that led to a partially collapsed lung?

Is it new?

Chest-lung
or has this pain lingered since? You may have a recurrent collapse if this is new. Cracked/fractured rib pain can linger a long time, but that would be the same old pain, so if this is new get a chest x-ray.

Need Physical

Talk to your Radiation Oncologist, it may all be due to the side effects of radiation. A physical exam is in order to make sure there are no signs of an infection.

Dr. Vance Harris answered:

Im trying to go to sleep but it feels like if my left arm is trying to go numb when i begin to fall asleep. Ive noticed an increase in blood pressure since like about nine oclock the reading is 140/85. no chest pain though. Could this be a drug interactio

Position related

Blood
hard to know without the medication you are on. Usually when the arm begins to going on in his position related. Do you have your left arm up over your head or are you laying on it as that is usually the cause. your blood pressure isn't high enough to worry about tonight so I would try to get back to sleep. try sleeping with your arm down at your side.

Went to er on 4/18 with severe chest pain and trouble breathing and doc said pericarditis but 2 other docs say costrocondritis?

Chest pain

Chest_pressure
If the chest wall hurts when pressed, that suggests costochondritis. The ECG is usually abnormal in pericarditis but not costochondritis.

Dr. Samuel S. Hahn answered:

went to the er with chest pain heart attack ruled out but high ck level of 2500 no meds to cause this but had hip surgery 3 months ago any ideas ?

Many possibilities

Heart_attack
thepossibilities the differential diagnosis of elevated Cpk is relatively narrow: muscle injury of any kind or one of the macro-ck syndromes. First I would recommend a muscle aldolase test, if abnormal something is causing ongoing muscle injury -drugs, autoimmune myositis, etc If normal, than I would do a Cpk electrophoresis to determine if macro Ck is present
