My cousin had his chest X-ray today and the radiologist said to him that his lung is enlarged and his heart is not visible.?

Kind of Weird: I'd say that is kind of weird. I suggest before you put much stock into what you ever learn in any x ray department, you wait and discuss the results with the doctor who ordered the x ray. A lot of misinformation comes from x ray department employees. I know that will offend some folks, but that is my experience. ...Read more

Tietze Syn show up on Sed Rate? Mine was extremely low, full heart and lung workup for 3mon of chest pain, docs think it's muscular. I play coll bball

Physical exam: Tietze is probably a real entity but nobody knows exactly what and since it is no danger, and there is no clear case definition, it is moot. Syed rate is famously not sensitive of specific for most stuff. For the chest pain work up, history and physical are key with EKG and enzymes next; sed rate just confuses regardless of results. Glad you exercise; make it lifelong. ...Read more

My chest and upper throat is tight I had a blood clot but now gone but I still have trouble breathing. My doctor says my heart and lung are healthy?

Asthma vs globus: The description of the blood clot throws things off a bit, but a tight sensation in that area with healthy heart and lungs in a young person typically is called a globus sensation and is the result of a spasming sphincter muscle at top of the esophagus. Reflux and/or anxiety is the typical cause. Raising the back of your bed so that your chest is elevated slightly higher than your stomach helps. ...Read more

If you have your heart and lung function monitored regularly. Will methadone affect you in the long term and I'm negative matter?

If you have your heart and lung function monitored regularly. Will methadone affect you in the long term and I'm negative matter?

It may: Methadone is a full mu receptor opioid agonist which means the body will develop a tolerance to it and a higher dose will be needed to obtain the same desired effect. Methadone at high doses can cause cardiac arrest. Drug-drug interaction should be assessed for as well. The choice really depends on what it's being used for or is it even necessary. ...Read more

Sorry no mean to disrespect do all drs. When listen to heart and lung sounds, can they tell the differences and the abnormalities and act upon it?

Unanswerable: This question is so very broad that I do not even know how to begin to answer it. Physicians are trained from day one to use their stethoscope to listen to the sounds the body makes. Most of us have years of experience doing so.
