Everyone is right!: Your baby is too young to take medicines without a doctor directly involved. Take your baby to a doctor for Dx and Tx as soon as possible. Get reevaluated: Without discussing your symptoms and medical history with you, and examining you, it's not possible to give specific advice. Most acute coughs are due to a Viral Bronchitis, don't respond to antibiotics and slowly improve over 2-3 weeks. Sometimes the cough lasts longer. Trachea: The chest discomfort may come from chest wall or from irritation/inflammation of the trachea(windpipe). The other symptoms suggest viral upper respiratory tract infection but could also be due to allergies. What can a person on beta blockers do for chest wheeze, cough, phlegm when albuterol breathing treatments are contraindicated? How to clear out lungs?

Alternative: I don't know the contraindication to albuterol but there is Levalbuterol as alternative. In addition, an inhaled steroid is usually indicated for chronic lung problems. Revisit your bblocker as there are also more selective ones that don't induce bronchospasm. Talk to your doctor about these. And definitely try to see if you can get cough meds.
