I have a mild sore throat chest and neck pain when coughing drainage clearing throat tender chest shallow breathing. Diagnosis?

Bronchitis Symptoms

Neck-throat
Probably bronchitis. Many are viral and will resolve in 7-10 days. If cough becomes productive or fever above 100, I recommend a visit to your doctor to evaluate for possible antibiotic treatment.

I have tightness in my chest, difficulty in breathing, shoulder and neck pain. I also have a strong heart beat causing an electrical sensation. My doctor said that my heart is alright. What should I do?

If not cardiac...

Costochondritis
These can be symptoms of an anxiety attack so consider exploring this diagnosis. I would consider costochondritis too, inflammation of the joints of the ribs as they join the sternum (breastbone). This is treated with an anti-inflammatory medication and physical therapy. An x-ray might help with diagnosis, though physical exam is most helpful. If the pain localizes, steroid injection helps.

More info

I need more information to answer the question. I would suggest you get a chest Cat Scan. The scan will determine if you have a lung tumor, lymphoma, emphema, or scar tissue. Also , there could be a metastatic cancerous lesion.

Weight loss, night sweats, chest pain, right side neck ache /painful to the touch. Right side thyroid swelling, but my blood tests come back healthy?

Possibly thyroiditis

Antithyroid_medication
Some of your symptoms sound consistent with subacute thyroiditis. This is inflammation of the thyroid, typically related to a virus infection. Thyroid levels may or may not be normal. You should see an endocrinologist for further evaluation.

Lymphoma

Angina
All these symptoms are consistent with lymphoma. The pain snd "swelling" in your neck could be enlarged lymph nodes. Best to get checked out by an MD as blood tests will not show lymphoma in many cases but imaging might. Good luck.

Dr. John Garner answered:

Can upper arm, chest, and neck pain when running be related to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy?

Yes

Hypertrophic_cardiomyopathy
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy creates what we call a dynamic obstruction. This means that as your heart works harder, it is working against itself and blocking the flow of blood. This can manifest with a wide range of symptoms including all of those that you described above. Expert treatment is required for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (usually from a cardiologist).

Severe chest and neck pain. Is this related to giving up smoking?

Probably not

Smoking
I hope not because we wouldn't want to discourage anyone from smoking cessation ;-) Unless you just quit smoking and are coughing a lot, which does happen at first, then these symptoms are not likely to be related to your giving up smoking. If no better after self care for a couple weeks time then see your doctor. If you are coughing a lot then it could be due to that.

Night sweats, chest and neck pain, extreme fatigue, should I go to ER?

Go to ER

Exhaustion
If this is your first episode or you just had a few similar brief episodes before, you should go to ER to rule out cardiac attack.
