Cherry Fruit Extract Side Effects
I've read interesting info abt benefits of broccoli extract, tart cherry extract, turmeric. Any side effects/harm in taking these as supplements?
Am craving kiwifruit so have been eating 12-14 everyday. What are the side effects of over eating kiwi fruit?
You're having them..: Diarrhea and loose stools. They are mostly sugar, with a little fat and a little protein, so it FEELS like you can live on them. But they are WAY more fiber than most people are used to eating, aside from the very health-conscious. So it's like a massive colon cleansing. In the long run, though, If you literally LIVED on them, you could become toxic on some vitamins, deficient in others, get sick. ...Read more
I live in a country where fruit and vegetables are contaminated by heavy metals. Is there a way (without side effects)to remove heavy metals from body?
Chelation therapy: (greek for claw or grab) is controversial but many people find it helpful in removing metals from the body. The standard method is IV treatments but there are newer oral chelators that one can take. In the us it is covered by insurance when used to remove lead but it is also used for other things. Please go to a doc who specializes in this or is trained in it. Peace and good health. ...Read more

Which is better? Feeding 7 months baby with porridge of several fruits or with one fruit alternately. E.G only apple, only cherry and so on?
Single to start: This depends on the process. Every new food can trigger a food reaction (vomiting, diarrhea, hives) that might result in hospital level care for dehydration. New foods should be offered one a time, waiting 3-5 days in between new foods. Reactions can occur early or late, so closer timing risks overlap of reactions. If none after 3-5 days, the food is safe and can be offered with other safe foods. ...Read more
Yes: Allergies can develop at any time. The likelihood of developing an allergy is dependent on exposure and genetics. Yes.: Food allergy can occur at any age. Cherry reactions can be due to allergic antibody (ige) directed at cherry protein resulting in itchy mouth/throat, GI symptoms, hives, etc so all cherries must be avoided. Reactions also be due to birch pollen ige which cross-reacts with cherry, resulting in only itchy mouth/throat and heating/canning cherries destroys the cross-reacting proteins so no reaction. ...Read more
I blended two cherry pits by mistake with the fruit smoothie I was doing. Can I or my son get cyanide poisoning?
The pits: Symptoms of mild poisoning include headache, dizziness, confusion, anxiety, and vomiting. Larger doses can lead to difficulty breathing, increased blood pressure and heart rate, and kidney failure. Reactions can include coma, convulsions, and death from respiratory arrest. There are several treatment options, but the main thing is to limit the absorption of the chemicals from the seeds. Basically, ...Read more
Is it dangerous to eat cherry pits? The reason I ask is because I put several cherries in the NutriBullet to make a fruit drink.
Don't eat cherry pit: Cherry pits contain cyanide compounds, which are poisonous. If one swallows a cherry seed by accident, it's no big deal because the seed stays intact and should pass right through. Grinding up the seeds however and then consuming them could lead to toxic effects. Cyanide works pretty quickly to cause severe symptoms which can include death. Hope you didn't grind up too much of those cherry pits. ...Read more
If I eat 3/4 a cup if cherries with almond milk and some fruit ok to eat at night or can it lead to fat weight gain?
Here's the key: At any age, weight is calories in versus calories out (ordinary metabolism, illness, exercise). Nobody actually counts calories as it's too tedious, and the key to staying trim is staying fit by exercising (with offers great advantages -- more than any pill a healthy person can take), and limiting portions, especially of greasy, sugary and salty stuff. Lifestyle's the key. Enjoy your cherries. ...Read more

As an adult, I've developed allergies to various fruit - peaches, apples, pears, cherries, nectarines and more. organic too what could be the cause?
Oral allergy syndrom: These symptoms are usually due to a reaction to proteins in fruits and vegetables that cross react with (are similar to) proteins in pollens. This syndrome typically only occurs upon eating the raw fruit and vegetable. If you can tolerate these fruits in cooked or processed forms (apple juice, apple pie, canned peaches, etc.) this confirms that oral allergy syndrome is the cause of your symptoms. ...Read more
Is it normal for 7 month baby to eat 200gr of fresh fruit porridge (banana, apple, medlar, cherry, cherry plum, peach) between meals?
Childhood Obesity: Nope. Not at all. That is 800 calories. You are the parent. You are responsible for the health of your child. This is obscene and to me child abuse to allow your child to become grossly obese. If they are not obese they soon will be at that rate. 800 calories in a 7 month old between regular meals? That is extremely unhealthy. ...Read more
