Dermatologist visit: Acne scars can be treated with some success though not removed. Microsurgery, lasers, fillers, dermabrasion. Forget diet or anything you can apply yourself. Acne (Definition)

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions. It affects about 80% of adolescents. Acne starts as a blockage of the sebaceous glands followed by inflammation. It occurs in areas where there are lots of sebaceous glands, such as the face back and chest. The hallmarks of the condition are blackheads, whiteheads (closed comedones), papules, pustules, cysts, nodules, and sometimes scarring. Benzoyl/salicylic: Try otc medicated benzoyl peroxide cleansing or salicylic acid. If not you may benefit from antibiotics (topical or oral). There is also a possibility that this is not acne but may be a skin reaction from an exposure during camping and may benefit from treating it as an allergy or dermatitis. Seek medical care for this latter possibility. ...Read more

Dermabrasion - Yes: Dermabrasion, medium/ deep chemical peels and laser resurfacing can help acne scars. The amount of benefit depends on the aggressiveness of the treatment and severity of scarring. Once should lather up with it, leave it on for at least a few minutes, and rinse off. It will bleach one's towels, so make sure to use ones that you do not like. Scalp very dry and always scaling.Face very oily and acne prone and frequent breakouts. Rest of body has extremely dry skin. How can I manage my skin?

Skin issues: Oily and scaling skin on the face may be seborrheic dermatitis. Acne is another problem. I would suggest referral to dermatologist for a full exam. Acne may respond to benzoyl peroxide and topical or oral antibiotics or vitamin a derivatives. Seborrheic dermatitis, if that's what it is, usually responds to topical steroids or anti-fungal preparation, ketoconazole, selenium preparations, etc. ...Read more
