I : I recommend washing the area thoroughly with mild soap and water. Once clean and dry, apply a topical antibiotic ointment. Keep the site clean, dry and with adequate antibiotic ointment applied to cover the area. You might consider over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help with the itching. If the area shows no improvement in 4 to 5 days consult your physician. This contact allergy due the active ingredient p-phenylenediamine.
