A cheilectomy: Is when the doc simply removes some spurring and this is usally for a hallux limitus deformity. With hallux limitus the spurring is usually dorsally. A bunionectomy is removal of bunion which is usually medially (on the side).
See below: There are many types of bunionectomy procedures of which a cheilectomy is one type.See 1 more doctor answer
Goal of procedure: Cheilectomy is a remodeling of the bone at a joint. Any bone spurs are removed and surfaces shaved down, cartilage at the joint is often addressed. Bone to bone healing is not involved. A bunionectomy involves the correction of a bunion deformity. This reqiures removing the boney prominence and most often cutting and realigning the 1st metatarsal bone and fixating it with a screw or pin.See 4 more doctor answers
I had cheilectomy in July. I only have a 40 degree bend. When stretching it grinds, after a day at work it's very sore. Do I need to go back to ortho?
Check it and see.: That would be a good start. It is always best to report to the surgeon when post operative events arise. The question is whether or not he will do anything about it.
Assuming that you-: -mean your great toe, I can speak from experience. Mine took 2 years 2 be really comfortable & able 2 workout with no pain. Sounds like a long time 2 wait but it gradually improves. I am talking about really good. Much better a choice than a replacement or fusion. In my practice that's all I did for DJD of the great toe all were happy no returns with increased complaints. Good luck!
2mo postop cheilectomy, pain in sesamoid area increasing last few wks & big toe turning in & over other toe dr says its normal & that's it is it normal
A clean up procedure: Cheilectomies are "Clean-up" procedures to help relieve some of the signs and symptoms of an arthritic joint, while still preserving the joint. Not quite sure why the toe is out of alignment. The alternative to a cheilectomy is an implant. These are much improved over the past few years and are quite similar to a knee or hip titanium appliance.
Success not 100%: Cheilectomy is done for a symptomatic hallux rigidus (dorsal bunion). The bone spurring is due to arthritis in the joint. The degree of which tempers the success rate. Success rate of the surgery is 65-85+%. Aggressive pt after it is recommended. Occasional if still painful after 4 months suggest injection with a steroid and possible manipulation under sedation to break up scar tissue, salvage surg.See 1 more doctor answer
What do you advise if I'm having a cheilectomy and possibly tendon repair in my big toe and I have some questions. Help please?
Cheilectomy: I suggest you ask the questions to your surgeon. You should always feel free to ask questions to your surgeon. He/she is the very best person to answer any and all questions that you may have.
I had a cheilectomy and some other bone fragments removed on Wednesday from my big toe. Do you think it's ok to try to move my big toe?
No: Yiy don't want to move the toe and cause non healing of the wound. You need ten days to heal skin. Then u can move the toe

When will I be able to get a pedicure after cheilectomy and bone spur removal on the big toe joint?
???: Assuming you are recovering from the surgery with a bandage, you should wait until it isfully removed. I really do not see any reason why you can't get pedicures after foot surgery. Ask your surgeon.
What is the preffered first line of treatment for a toe with arthritis, limited mobility, and no cartilage in the joint: a cheilectomy or a MTP fusio?
Great toe: Treatment depends upon amount of damage to the articular surface. Fusion of mtp is a bigger surgery, and is necessary if the joint Has a lot of wear. It is very effective towards resolving the pain you have. A cheilectomy which removes bone spurs is unlikely to help in the face of significant joint wear
I had Cheilectomy 7/29/15 never got full motion. In pain when walking to long & whole foot from toe to heel hurts after 2 hours. What now? Go to ortho?
Call for quote: I do not work for lifestyle lift but patients I have seen typicallynstatenthatbtgusruns just over 4000 usd. However I am also told that they will encourage you, using various sales techniques by a non-physician to encourage other supplementary procedures such as laser or eyelid procedures which may raise the price to well over 8000 according to my patients.See 1 more doctor answer
Varies place 2 place: Also how much needs to be analysed. Suggest you ask dr. Who advises semenanalysis, unless you are only interested in total sperm count ; % viable sperm. Then look up labs via google, call and ask how much they charge. Good luck.
Thousands up to 20x: Angiogram means blood picture; pictures show a 2d image, still or motion, of dye added into the blood, so that the dye/blood column shows on x-ray. The equipment required to perform is expensive (100k to 4m) & experience required to perform then reasonably safely is high (translate that more money). I have seen client bills: only hospital charges, out-pt <1 day, procedures I did in past, over $30k.See 1 more doctor answer
