My doctor told me the sudden spasm in my right lip and left cheek last 2 sec from a month now several times a day is not symptom of brain tumor im 27?

Diagnosis/Neurology: Have your doctor refer you to a neurologist for a diagnostic workup of your facial spasms. I agree with your doctor that it would be unusual for a brain tumor to cause lip and cheek spasms on opposite sides of the face, but it appears you still need to find out what is causing these spasms. Hope this helps.

Neoplasms (Definition)

"tumor" literally translates as "mass", so even a fresh bruise could be called a "tumor". Doctors use the term "neoplasm" (tranlates literally as new growth) to describe tumors that are abnormal growths of cells. These may be benign or malignant; "malignant" = cancer. In everyday usage, we use "tumor" ...Read more

Can a hit to the head, like a concussion, cause a brain tumors symptoms to activate?

Can a hit to the head, like a concussion, cause a brain tumors symptoms to activate?

Likely not: However a concussion can prompt testing like a MRI or CT scan, and an otherwise asymptomatic tumor may be found. Many times we find things on testing that have nothing to do with the reason the test was ordered.

23yo female so scared I have a brain tumor just have a feeling of pressure at the top and side of my head. Doesn't get any worse no other symptoms?

Relax, see dr.: Brain tumors in your age group are not common. If the headache goes away with paracetamol and there are no neural symptoms like confusion, weakness, numbness, double vision, the headache is worse in the afternoon, and no nausea and vomiting, you can relax. Make an appointment with your doctor for a neurological exam and ask if you may need other tests done. Sometimes sertralene can cause headaches.

Worried about a brain tumor only symptom I have is very mild tight band feeling around head doesn't get worse 23yo female?

Worried about a brain tumor only symptom I have is very mild tight band feeling around head doesn't get worse 23yo female?

Would it help.....: If I told you that with that as the only symptom, your other listed conditions as well as the fact you're on birth control pills that brain tumor is so far down the list of entities that it'd take you 1 week on a jet elevator going DOWN at 1000 mph to get to that diagnosis as opposed to anything else. A good neurological exam will prove it to you if you've also doubted your doctor's opinion.

I have been experiencing head pain and once in a while my vision appears fuzzy and unclear. Are these symptoms of a brain aneurysm or tumor?

39 yr old. Feels like gentle poke / ping on top right side of head for months. Not headache; no brain tumor symptoms, but worried. My dr says stress?

39 yr old. Feels like gentle poke / ping on top right side of head for months. Not headache; no brain tumor symptoms, but worried. My dr says stress?

Doubt tumor: head dyscomfort symptoms are like snow flakes. Rarely do 2 people describe the same type of symptoms based on their perception. You wont' find anything in the literature about a ping pong sensation in your head. After 23 hears I have learned that unusual sensations like this that haven't been described in the literature mean nothing. Ping pong sensation can point to middle ear issue.

Can a small tumor in cerebellum cause dizzy head laying down for a few minutes? Or are there usually more neurological symptoms?

Can a small tumor in cerebellum cause dizzy head laying down for a few minutes? Or are there usually more neurological symptoms?

Brain tumor: Yes. Even small tumors in strategic locations can cause neurological symptoms. Acoustic neuromas (vestibular schwannomas), meningiomas, and hemagioblastomas are some of the tumors that arise in and around the cerebellum that can cause dizziness. A history and physical examination with a neurosurgeon can determine whether the tumor and symptoms are linked.

I had a normal MRI of the head. Would that have shown any tumors that could cause symptoms in ear? (i.e. pressures, whooshing sound when swallow)

I had a normal MRI of the head. Would that have shown any tumors that could cause symptoms in ear? (i.e. pressures, whooshing sound when swallow)

Maybe: MRI of the brain looks at the brain and would show most brain masses. Small lesions in the ear and internal auditory canal may be missed unless an MRI that focuses in on the ear is performed using a smaller field of view. Talk to your doctor.

Left side head pain and forehead pain. These is the symptoms of brain tumor?

Left side head pain and forehead pain. These is the symptoms of brain tumor?

Unlikely: Since you also have forehead pain this is far more likely to be a sinus headache. Obviously I can't tell over the internet. Brain tumors are rare, estimated 20/100, 000 people. Of those, 7/100, 000 are cancer.

Brain tumor symptoms.? I have dull pressure. On left side top head and my left eye is foggy and. I feel pressure around that area?

Brain tumor symptoms.? I have dull pressure. On left side top head and my left eye is foggy and. I feel pressure around that area?

Probably not: Although it's possible, what you describe doesn't cause alarm about brain tumors in my mind. Dull head pain and pressure where you describe is more likely something boring, like sinus congestion. When you say your eye is "foggy", do you mean you have trouble seeing? If yes, that is more concerning and you should see a doctor right away. Some eye problems can cause head pain and pressure.

I feel pressure on left side of my head near my ear and right above sideburn. I am not having any symptoms of brain tumor. What is it?

TMJ?: A diagnosis cannot be made without an exam. However, this sounds like this may be related to you temporal mandibular joint (tmj). An ear issue cannot be excluded. This would require an exam by your doctor for a diagnosis.

What are the chances of having a brain tumor and having no neurological symptoms? Just head pain twinges and dizziness.

What are the chances of having a brain tumor and having no neurological symptoms? Just head pain twinges and dizziness.

Very low: You can be describing anything from impacted earwax to a jaw / TMJ problem to a host of other possibilities. If these become more than a minor nuisance, visit with your physician at your next regular appointment or earlier if need be. Brain tumors don't announce themselves as twinges, and the causes of dizziness are many and seldom are tumors. How's the hearing in each ear?

I recently had a Head and Neck CT scan. One without and one with contrast. What are the chances a brain tumor causing symptoms was missed?

I recently had a Head and Neck CT scan. One without and one with contrast. What are the chances a brain tumor causing symptoms was missed?

Very remote: CT scan will pick up a brain tumor easily although it is not the best test for small (tiny) tumors. But then you would not have any symptoms from a small lesion. Please share information about your symptoms with us....we like to have detailed history of what is bothering you to start with.
