Infections: The infections in the sinuses or the just finished root canal treatment either still there or did not go away completely, consult your doctor for treatment. Swollen lymph nodes are indicative of infections in the areas they drain..

Why is my cheek still swollen after a root canal?

RC: Inflammed tissues take time to go back to normal even after rc. If it does not go down in the following days go back to your dentist. If swelling get worse that is not a good sign.

What would cause inside of my cheek to be sore and feel swollen after a root canal to upper tooth #14 done 3 days ago?

What would cause inside of my cheek to be sore and feel swollen after a root canal to upper tooth #14 done 3 days ago?

Hematoma or abscess?: It could be normal post-op healing and pain, a hematoma, or a developing abscess. If it persists for several more days, or gets worse, I would go back to see your dentist.

Had a root canal over a year ago and I noticed my gums and cheek is swollen with a lump in my cheek but no pain what so ever. What could this be?

Had a root canal over a year ago and I noticed my gums and cheek is swollen with a lump in my cheek but no pain what so ever. What could this be?

Failed Root Canal: This is unfortunately a possibility with any tooth and any root canal. The treatment option is removing the previous root canal and repeating the process. This is often best carried out by a specialist endodontist.

Is a dentist suppose to start the process of performing a root canal without draining the abscess if it's swollen the cheeks?

Is a dentist suppose to start the process of performing a root canal without draining the abscess if it's swollen the cheeks?

Yes, of coarse: The only way to cure a dental abscess is with dental treatment. The treatments are: root canal treatment, tooth extraction and/or in some cases, drainage surgery. The treatment for this type of abscess is normally root canal treatment. Hope it helps.

Gum swollen after root canal. Is this normal and how do I get the swelling down?

See the dentist: I would go back to see the dentist who performed the root canal. There may be an infection. The dentist can then best let you know how to manage this.

I have been in pain since yesterday and need a root canal but now my face is swollen badly. What can I do for this?

You need: Immediate care. Please contact your dentist or the provider who will be doing your root canal asap. If this is not a viable plan of action -go an emergency room. An er will not be able to cure the problem but antibiotics may be used as a stop-gap measure. Please do not delay in getting care.

Does your face get swollen after a root canal? If so, how long does it last? Her picture day is 2 days after. Will it be gone by then? Thank you!

Not too often: One of the reasons for a root canal is an infected tooth. While the infection starts inside the tooth, abscesses are by definition 'outside' the tooth. The root canal treats the source, but sometimes the abscess can still progress in size resulting in visible swelling. If concerned, seek follow-up evaluation from your dentist. An antibiotic might help.
