Not the best option: Low potency topical steroids like Locoid lipocream can help with the inflammation around the lips when they are chapped. They should be used for a short period of time ( a couple days) then transition to a non-steroid option like vaseline petrolatum ointment or aquphor for long term control. Too much?: The the most common mistake we make is keeping the lips wet with saliva; this makes dryness even worse. You have probably developed dryness related to the weather or office environment.
