I have a sore on the outer lip of my vagina I saw several pictures online that looked just like mine most are saying its a vaginal chancre sore. It is uncomfortable when my underwear rubs against it or when I wipe. Its no bigger than a pencil eraser, it h
No the chancre: Has a hard edge, usually dry and painless. Caused by treponema palidum, sphylis. A chancroid is the same size, painful, oozes, soft edge. Caused by haemophilis ducreyei. Both are sti's. So yes, but not all are syphilis. The chancre goes away, but the disease persists. You cannot get it from shaving or toilet seats. ...Read more
I have pelvic inflamatory disease but my bf and i both developed a chancre like sore on out genitals what could this be?
Herpes?: "Chancre" implies syphilis, but that's currently rare in h heterosexuals in the US, where most syphilis is occuring in gay men. The most common cause of genital ulcers ("chancre like sore") is genital herpes. You both should be examined and tested ASAP; both herpes diagnosis and treatment are much more accurate the sooner they are done. It might be something else, but better safe than sorry. ...Read more
Totally Different: Canker sores are called aphthous ulcers, occur exclusively in the mouth and the cause is unknown. A chancre is an ulcer found on genitalia and in the mouth caused by the spyrochete that causes syphilis. Canker sores are not contagious, but chancres shed live bacteria and can spread syphilis by contact. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What could cause a painless chancre type sore on penis, visible for over a month and not having had any sexual activities in the last 8months?
Chancre: The most common source of a painless chancre on the penis would be syphilis and suggest that you be tested for this as well as other STDs. This usually occurs within 21 days, plus or minus, of the exposure, and I cannot explain the long delay of 8 months. Suggest you see a dermatologist. For your interest, the word "chancre" comes from the french and means "little ulcer". ...Read more
1mm x 4mm painless "sore" just below the head of my penis no other symptoms. A chancre? But I haven't had sex in the last 8months. What could it be?
Tricky not seeing it: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health, Dermatologic conditions are hard to evaluate without seeing them in person. Non-std skin conditions (boils, cuts, skin tears) can occur. Std's can occur long after sex. Syphillis would generally be sooner and it is rare Herpes can occur at any time and it is common ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I dry kissed a random woman at a club and 10 days later a small pimple like sore showed up on my lip. Could it be a chancre syphilis?
Not syphilis: Syphilis is rare in heterosexuals in Canada, especially in the Vancouver area; is rarely transmitted by kissing, especially dry kissing; and a chancre would not appear as a pimple-like sore. You might just have a pimple, or maybe oral herpes (cold sore). Whatever it is, you didn't catch it from the kiss. ...Read more
Picture not helpful: You will need to have a doctor examine you and find the cause and then give you proper advice. All my bloods came back fine also a full blood picture normal? Wat else cud be makin my legs sore? They have been like this since after my 3rd child?
Possibly nerves: Pinched lumbar nerves can cause pain that runs down through the legs. Even simple deconditioning could cause leg soreness - you may want to try putting yourself on a simple exercise program (i.e. Walking 2 - 3 times a day) and see if that helps. I would recommend that you see an orthopedist for an evaluation if your symptoms remain troublesome. ...Read more

I use Burt's bees lip balm and now I have sore lips it is not a canker sore. If you look at my profile picture you will see them. Please help ?
Best be seen: In general, given the dry weather after the snowstorm, irritant dermatitis of the lips is common; worsened by lip licking. Furthermore, lip balms often trigger allergic reactions, exacerbating the condition. Steroids may be needed, but get checked first for virus/cold sore or cheilitis; see primary care/urgent care, or video chat. Can't diagnose here. ...Read more

This sounds like it: could be impetigo, which is a bacterial infection, although it could be herpes. It is not possible to upload a picture to this part of the HealthTap website (the free part).
