Chances Of Getting Hpv Unprotected Sex With A Carrier
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection. There are over 100 different types of HPV that causes warts in different areas of the body. HPV is incredibly common and almost all sexually active men and women get it during their lifetime. Most of the time HPV does not cause any symptoms or complications. However, A limited number of these HPV viruses are pathogenic and if not monitored carefully can be responsible for causing cervical and penile cancer. Some of these viruses have been ...Read more
I have low grade HPV and my husband is a carrier, we are both infected. Will this be deadly and can we contiue to have unprotected sex?
Pretty high: We don't know exactly, but we do have studies that follow women at a young age to see the risk. Some studies, following women who claim to have had sex for the first time, and with minimal partners, and data shows that 40% will test positive in 2 years after first having sex. That's a pretty high acquisition risk! We also know that 80% of women will test positive by age 50! protect yourself!
What are the chances of not catching HPV from person who's infected when you have unprotected sex?
Not good: But don't worry! hpv is very common and highly contagious. If you know you have been exposed to it, get regular pap smears and follow up as directed by your doctor.
My husband has Hpv. I think he exposed it to me though I don't have. We are having unprotected sex. But m afraid of getting this disease. How can get rid?
HPV vaccine: There is actually a vaccine for HPV -human papilloma virus. Even though you are 28, you might be a good candidate for that - given your husband's infection. Unfortunately it might be 'too late' though depending on when he contracted it and how much sexual contact you've had already. I would CERTAINLY talk to your doctor about possibly getting the vaccine and taking other steps to reduce your risk.
If both you and your partner have HPV (warts) from a one time sexual encounter, could you get more warts from having unprotected sex again?
Yes: It just takes once. That's how it works. Seems so innocent, but the consequences can be huge.
Is it that my boyfriend will 100% get HPV if we have unprotected sex? We're using condom fyi. And if he does, will he get the same type as mine? Hpv16
If my girlfriend test neg for hpv that's my only sex partner what's my chances of having hpv if im her only sex partner we deep kiss nd unprotected sex?
Still could have HPV: The standard HPV test often misses HPV. Your partner's negative test only tells that HPV probably wasn't on her cervix at the time of her test. You are going to get HPV someday, maybe already have; it is a normal, expected part of human sex. HPV is transmitted only by intercourse, not kissing. Get vaccinated to protect from the 9 HPV types that cause almost all cancer or warts. Then don't worry!
If I have unprotected sex with a wart will my partner get warts if he doesn't have them or will he just get hpv. Is it based off of his immune system?
Girlfriend got +ve HPV and pap smear. We had unprotected sex few times. What to do to check if I got hpv? Can I get vaccination? What's next step?
HPV in men: There is no immediate "next step". Men in your situation do not need examination or testing unless they see warts on the penis. There are no approved tests for HPV in men and nothing to do even if a test were positive. Everybody gets HPV. Your gf's HPV and abnormal pap have no effect on your health. However, you could be vaccinated to prevent infection with the 9 HPV types covered by the vaccine.
Very likely: According to the centers for disease control & prevention, "it is estimated that most every sexually active man and woman will acquire genital hpv infection at some point in their lives. An estimated 79 million women aged 14-59 years are infected with hpv, with the highest prevalence in those aged 20-24 years." safe sex can help, but vaccination is also recommended for children and young adults.See 1 more doctor answer
My husband of one year has HPV and I have SLIL...we want kids, is it ok to have unprotected sex to have kids?
Yes: Yes. It is okay to get pregnant with an hov infection present. I would meet with your doctor before you try to get pregnant and make sure to have a Pap smear.
Could my partner have HPV if I was already diagnosed with a mild case of it before we started having unprotected sex?
Yes: Your partner can get it from you or could have had it without symptoms if he was sexually active in the past.
Can having unprotected sex with my partner make my HPV worse? I recently got told that it has worsened from the initial check six months ago.
Good question: Well...It will for him that's for sure. Hpv also infects males. The male hpv I see is rectal and anal....But a mucous membrane is a mucous membrane. Just check with your gyn as well and see what they think. This is a complicated question and situation.
About a week ago I had unprotected sex with someone who joked about hpv. I asked he said he didn't but I don't believe him. How soon can I be tested?
Now: I would get tested now and again in 3 months for common stds.
I had unprotected sex with my bf then later found out I had HPV does that mean he has it too now? Is oral sex out of the question now?
HPV: It is very likely that he is positive as well. Certainly I would make that assumption. Hpv has recently been show to cause throat cancer. Using a condom should used during oral sex if you want to protect yourself fully. Anal sex as well. Condoms reduce viral load and reduce the likelihood of hpv related problems.
I have HPV and so does my girlfriend. She does not have a breakout, but I do. Could unprotected sex could my condition cause her to have a breakout?
Already infected: Your gf is already infected with hpv. Your having a fresh lesion will not impact her flaring.
I was recently diagnosed with HPV. I've only had 3 partners. I've never had unprotected sex and I've been celibate for 10 years. How is this possible?
It happens: Studies have shown as many as 70% of college age women are positive. HPV can bypass condoms and pass unnoticed for decades. The wart producing strains would give rise to observed findings within a year or so. The other strains do not produce symptoms in men & will occasionally cause cervical changes in women over time.See 1 more doctor answer
I have HPV and so does my girlfriend. She does not have a breakout, but I do. If we have unprotected sex could my condition cause her to have a breakout?
Good chance it will: She probably has phv on her cervix, but she could end up getting it on the vulva from teh subtype that is on your penis and that is sometimes hard to get rid of so you should see a urologist to get trreated Aldara (imiquimod) cream works well for many people or other treatments.
