After a normal pregnancy I suffered two miscarriages in a row. What can I do to insure a normal pregnancy the next time?
Get a checkup: Most likely your next pregnancy will be normal and healthy. However, after 2 miscarriages in a row, an evaluation by your gynecologist or a reproductive endocrinologist is a good idea. Most problems that are found during an evaluation for recurrent miscarriage can be fixed: low thyroid, uterine scarring, are 2 examples of common curable problems in this situation. See your doctor! Yes: 3 miscarriages qualifies as 'recurrent pregnancy loss' sometimes the miscarriages aren't due to you, but due to sperm as well. Chromosomal abnormalities have to be considered in both of you. You may want to see an infertility specialist to get some testing to see if that could be an issue (i.e. Balanced translocations, etc). Without knowing what tests were done, can't speak if had all workup. ...Read more

Do two miscarriages (6 weeks and 8 weeks) indicate better chances of a successful pregnancy in future than not conceiving at all?
Yes and no: Yes, it is better than not ever being able to conceive at all. No, because the most common reason for early pregnancy loss is a genetic combination with the embryo that is incompatible with continuing life. This situation may repeat itself if pregnancy again occurs ;statistically. ...Read more
Had a miscarriage last year started taking prenatal vitamins two days ago, what is the chance of having another miscarriage...Afraid?
Miscarriage: I'm sorry to hear of your loss last year -- that's painful for anyone. About 15% of all pregnant women have miscarriages -- but this is not likely related to using prenatal vitamins. Prenatal vitamins especially supply folate, (folic acid) which prevents neural tube birth defects. Smoking is one factor that may increase the risk of miscarriage. You & your doctor can discuss any risks in your specific case. ...Read more

Get in shape:
I would stress that you need to exercise enough and diet enough to get in great shape before getting pregnant. It is difficult enough to lose weight and get in shape when you are diabetic. It gets more difficult while pregnant. You need to start out the pregnancy at your best.

3 living children now 3 miscarriages in a row. New partner. What test can they do to see what's wrong?
What could be the reasons for 3 miscarriages in a row? Miscarriages 10/2013, 11/2013 and 01/2014. I've had 3 heathy pregnancies previously.
Chromosomal: The most common reason for any miscarriage is a chromosomal problem. Assuming this is the same father. It's unlikely that you have a problem that has gone 'undetected' in your 3 prior normal pregnancies. But 3 miscarriages in a row is traumatic and emotionally painful. You and your husband/partner may want to see doctor just to get checked out. I'm so sorry for your losses. ...Read more

Yes: The fact that you've had 4 miscarriages in a row is obvious cause for concern. There could be something anatomically wrong, or chromosomally wrong. It's hard to say whether this cramping is a miscarriage, only time will tell. I'm sorry you're going through this and hope you're successful with this pregnancy. Get an ultrasound at around 5 1/2 weeks and hopefully you'll see a heartbeat. ...Read more

Depends: Depends upon how the pregnancy had progressed.
