Ultrasound yesterday morning and saw my 9 week olds heartbeat. My doc said everything perfect. Later that nighhad a miscarriage. How can she miss that?
Unfortunately: Spontaneous miscarriages are just that, and all tests and imaging studies may appear normal before the miscarriage. Your doc probably didn't miss anything on the ultrasound, it is more likely that whatever was abnormal was not detectable. Sorry for your loss and take care. ...Read more
How common is a missed miscarriage in the first trimester? I am 8 weeks but have not seen my doc yet, so no confirmed heartbeat.
Is it normal to keep spotting and cramping up till 4 days after an mva is done for a missed miscarriage (heartbeat stopped) @6weeks?
When is a miscarriage diagnosed if no fetal heartbeat is seen? I went 8wks after missed period and no HB was detected, can this be normal?
Lmp 5/1, positive hpt 3/2, bhcg 2063 7/2. Dating scan yesterday revealed yolk sac only, no heartbeat dated at 6 weeks only? Missed miscarriage?
Another BHCG: The best way to know what is going on with the pregnancy it to have another bhcg level drawn. The number should double every 48 hours. If it is staying the same or declining the pregnancy is probably not going to continue. If it is on the rise then perhaps the ultrsound was just too early to detect the gestational sac and heartbeat. ...Read more
Missed miscarriage at week 8, baby lost heart beat. Induced miscarriage with cytote 3 weeks ago, now hcg level 300 (was 337 two days ago), need D&C?
Probably...: Cytotec (misoprostol) will usually cause you to pass the tissue left in your uterus. If it doesn't, a D&C is frequently performed. Its also a good idea to continue repeating the HCG level after the D&C until it is zero. This will ensure that there is no other problems related to the miscarriage such as gestational trophoblastic disease. Best Wishes! ...Read more
What are the chances of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat of 131 at 6 weeks 5 days when the embryo isn't growing properly only at 6 weeks 2 days?
Low: Actually a fetal pole measuring 6 weeks 2 days when you are 6 weeks 5 days pregnant is fine. Babies come in all sizes -plus or minus 5 days measurement (ahead or behind) is fine. Also not everyone has 28 day cycles and if you did not ovulate on day 14 of your cycle, dates may be measuring a little off. Were you told this was abnormal, because I do not think it is, unless I missing facts. ...Read more

Pregnancy: The presence of a normal heart rate at 9 weeks reduces the risk of miscarriage. My dr did see an amniotic sack with no heartbeat yet she wants to check again on mon but with my levels being low does this mean miscarriage?
Not Necessarily: She will be looking both for changes in the ultrasound and in increases in the betaHCG. You don't know anything at this point. I know it is hard to wait, but until you know what the numbers show and what the ultrasound shows you just don't know what is going to happen. I wish you nothing but good thoughts and increasing levels ...Read more
At 9.5 weeks with twins, heartbeats were 167 and babies are 2.7cm & 3cm. At this point, what are the chances of miscarrying one or both twins?
Chances are lower: Obviously twins are a higher risk for complications than a single gestation but with 2 very healthy heartbeats you certainly can breathe somewhat easier. Your OB will go over with you risks of twins at the various gestational ages but I would try to relax at this point. ...Read more

What is my chance for miscarriage after the heartbeat is seen at 6 weeks. Everything else measured fine as well. So worried, 1st baby!?
Depends on symptoms: In general if you are not bleeding or having significant cramps its very likely you are going to have a normal pregnancy. However, there are no guarantees. Having said that, I would relax and enjoy being pregnant. Take your prenatal vitamins and start regular OB care. ...Read more

Still too early:
A pos fetal heart beat is great.
