By definition those with CFS have had treatable causes ruled out but my experience is that most with "CFS" have undiagnosed hypothyroidism/thyroiditis, chronic Lyme disease with coinfections like Babesia, Bartonella and Mycoplasma, parasites, food sensitivities, heavy metal toxicity etc. Some have sleep apnea. It is rarely helpful: There are some theoretical reasons why it can help and anecdotal evidence for its utilization although amantadine is a relatively challenging medicine to both tolerate as a patient and dose as a clinician so it requires a lot of fine tuning to be a useful intervention. Studies show light aerobic exercise, such as walking, makes you more energetic and less tired. Maybe you have avoided exercise because you're afraid it will make you feel worse.
