As to HPV, it is possible but extremely rare and treatment is only for visible lesions with high recurrence up to 50%. So, ask your obs-gyn doc for faster advice. If I have low risk HPV and get sharp cramps often, what does that mean? Are those warts in my cervix? Please please clarify

If I have low risk HPV and get sharp cramps often, what does that mean? Are those warts in my cervix? Please please clarify

No cramps from HPV: HPV doesn't cause cramps; that symptom is unrelated to your HPV infection. Warts can appear on the cervix, but usually not. Your doctor can tell by just looking during a pelvic exam. When low risk HPV involve the cervix, usually the only thing found is an abnormal pap smear -- of a type that usually just goes away on its own. See your doctor about both your HPV infection and the cramps. ...Read more

Dr won't give me a HPV culture but says I have a wart on my cervix but only cancer causing HPV (have dysplasia), makes 0 sense. Where can I be tested?

Doctor is right: There are hundreds of strains of hpv, some are related to cancer and others are not. Wart causing strains usually do not cause cancer. If your pap smear did not show dysplasia, you are not at increased risk of cancer. Please keep up with your routine pap tests. If the warts are a concern, you may ask to have those removed surgically. ...Read more

Im pregnant had a abnormal pap my doctor looked at my cervix added a vingar wash said it was cyst friend told me that ment I had warts is that true?

3 different issues: 1) Your doctor applied the vinegar to your cervix, because that will make the area, where the abnormal pap smear cells come from, stand out. 2) The cyst he was talking about was a Nabothian cyst, which has no significance whatsoever; 3) Abnormal pap smears come from an infection with human papilloma viruses (HPV), which are sexually transmitted; HPVs can also give rise to genital warts. ...Read more

Hi - my wife has a lot of irregular cervix cells and will likely do LEED. Should I get the HPV vaccine? I have had genital warts on/off for a year

Hi - my wife has a lot of irregular cervix cells and will likely do LEED. Should I get the HPV vaccine? I have had genital warts on/off for a year

Bit late for that: The vaccine has no value in treating HPV.Once you have a strain of HPV it is with you for life. You both may share several. The vaccine could protect you both from a few new strains, but if you are in a monogamous relationship I wouldn't bother. The approved age range is 9-26, which is the only group insurers will pay for.Your out of pocket cost would run >$200/dose for 3 dose set. ...Read more
