Cervix Hit Rough Sex Contractions
This usually has to do with the onset of labor. It is a muscular tightening of the uterus. Contractions are timed from beginning to end of hardening of the uterus (duration) and from beginning of one contraction until the beginning of the next (frequency). A third descriptor is intensity or how hard ...Read more
Unlikely . . .: If you're referring to plain ol' penile-vaginal sex with a bit more effort, then "rough" vigorous sex should not injure your cervix any more so than "romantic, artful" (?) sex, which is to say, no. Unprotected sex w/multi-partners, whether all at once or just over time, can increase risk for cervical cancer via HSV infection. One last thought: if you use toys, then I suppose injury is possible. ...Read more

How many weeks?: Unfortunately, I don't know how many weeks gestation you are, this definitely changes how we will consider your contractions! IF you are at term, 37 plus weeks, AND this is a healthy pregnancy, AND your physician has said let's watch you at home, AND your water is intact, AND you are feeling adequate movement of the baby, hang in there! Call your OB for concerns! ...Read more
Pressure almost pain where I would imagine my cervix would be. No contractions or other symtoms of labor?
I'm contracting but my cervix isn't changing. How can I help my cervix dilate. I'm 39.5 weeks along. Only 1 CM but I continue to have contractions.
Braxton Hicks: The contractions(braxton hicks) that you are experiencing are the warm up for the concert that will soon begin. When actual progressive labor begins, your cervix will dilate and there is nothing that you can do to alter those events. 'If the apple is ripe, it will fall off the tree'. ...Read more

Irregular contractions and Braxton hicks at 28 weeks, with a soft and squishy cervix. Is this concerning? Was told just to take it easy.
Two tests: There are two tests that can be done to confirm that these contractions are not concerning. 1. A Fetalfibronectin (FFN). This is a simple Qtip test that can be done in the doctor's office. A negative result is a good result. 2. A sonographic cervical length measurement. The longer the cervix the better. Ask your doctor if these tests would be helpful in your care ...Read more

37weekspreg. Regular painful contractions for over 24hrs. Was sent home from the hospital cervix hadn't changed. Now only having random contractions. Why?
What did your OB: Say your OB should have explained that sometimes you can have false labor, if it was the real labor the cervix would have changed and they would not have become less frequent, but you could go into labor anytime, so if they get regular again or your water breaks (even if you are having no contractions) you need to call your ob. ...Read more
No: The definition of braxton hicks contractions are false contractions but do not cause your cervix to dilate. If your cervix is dilating, they are real contractions. ...Read more

I was 10 weeks and 2 days started having cintractions went to the ER ultrasound said baby ok could they have stopped the contractions cervix wasn't dial?
Being pregnant: The er is usually not the place for ob questions. Contacting your OB is the most ideal next step in most cases. If there us a concern OB doctors would send you to a labor floor to be observed and examined and a treatment plan instituted. It sounds like you lost your pregnancy. I am not sure contractions could have been stopped or should have been stopped. ...Read more
I'm 21 weeks pg and cervix shortened to from 3.5 to 1.5cm in 3 wks. I'm on hospital bedrest no contractions. How many weeks is a realistic goal for me?
Term would be best: Do as your OB says, consider weekly 17-oh Progesterone injections (or vaginal suppositories) to help prolong your pregnancy. Also receive a course of beta-methasone @ 24 weeks to help with prematurity problems & do what you can to keep pressure off your cervix. 24 weeks is rhe first week of viability but risky; remember each additional week helps. Over 35 weeks would be awesome. Good luck. ...Read more
