Both arms and legs especially arms get numb only when i wake up and only for a while and I have no pain. I told doc to send me for a brain and cervical spine MRI and everything was fine. What is it?

Something's in the spine just may take longer to get better than 6 weeks, other times people come to see me and come to find out they still have some degree of nerve impingment or they have had a complication. Can RIGHT cervical nerve root compression cause symptoms on the LEFT side, such as left shoulder/arm pain? I have severe foraminal stenosis.in c6/7.
