You are correct: That is theoretically so BUT if that excuse is used as a reason why you should have unprotected sex, you may be surprised. If she is ovulating on day 15 and you are having sex on day 19, you may be surprised to learn of the speed at which sperm swims and how long an egg can survive and how delayed ovulation could actually be.
