Cervical radic.: Cervical radiculopathy can present like this. The numbness/tingling would go usually down the arm and into the thumb mostly for a c6 radiculopathy. A cervical epidural steroid injection can help tremendously for this. Surgery may be needed, but and esi and pt and oral anti-inflammatories should usually be tried first. If the swelling can be minimized and the pressure off the nerve somehow controlled, then it is possible to reverse. Need repeat MRI: You need to call the surgeon or pain management person who did the procedure. They might need to repeat an MRI to check for an irritated nerve from the procedure. Depends: If you have significant compression on the nerve roots based on the MRI scan and your symptoms are limited to the same involved nerve roots, then surgery will help you and is a good idea.
