Cervical disc herniation can cause stinging sensation in the throat and shortness of breath? It can get rid of this symptom? What are the solutions?
See your Doctor & be: investigated for proper diagnosis, of your Shortness of breath, which to me seems to be related to your GERD. A GI specialist or a your Doctor will be able to treat that, but if your Cervical Disc is cause of your symptoms, then surgery might be needed if nonsurgical treatment does not help. No: Nerve supply to the facial muscles are from 7 th cranial nerve , coming from side of the brain stem on either side, and the sensory supply is from 5th cranial nerve called trigeminal nerve which devides into 3 branches called opthalmic, maxillary and mandibular . Currently being considered for coblation nucleoplasty trial (cervical). Contained herniation. I'm in early 20's. Possible long term complications?
Coblation: Understand, these treatments are low (not zero) risk, but for what purpose? Contained herniation means that there is no pressure on the nerves, and the disc is simply not in a "normal" location within the disc space. Study? Fine. 2-3 wks, then things: change somewhat. Initially the nerve root takes a hard fast hit,& is not happy. Pain, numbness. Muscle weakness is urgent. As the swelling from the herniation decreases symptoms are less. If the herniation is large you may never get out of the acute phase due to the large space it take up in a small space.Rx with NSAIDS help.
