Perfectly normal.: I would recommend that you limit sexual activity and core exercise issues It should be greatly improved by 14-21 days depending I on how many biopsies and how deep. Hope this helps ...Read more
I had a cervical biopsy done on the 15 i had sex last night and now my vagina is a lil sore and I have mild cramping does this means i'm not healed?
Possibly: Every one heals at different rates from procedures. Most doctors will recommend avoiding intercourse for 1-2 weeks after cervical biopsy though some degree of soreness, mild bleeding, or cramping not all that unusual when intercourse resumes or cervix not yet completely healed. If symptoms persist for more than 24 hrs or worsen, always a good idea to contact your md or their nurse to get advice. ...Read more
May need more surgery: If the biopsy shows low-grade dysplasia or no findings then you are done. If it shows high-grade dysplasia or glandula dysplasia then you will probably receive another cervical biopsy where they will call when out the cervix to remove all the dysplasia from hpv then you should be done. I assume you had a : Colposcopy with biopsies for an abnormal pap your doc who did the biopsy shhould have already discussed this with you at the time of the biopsy or before , but usual recovery is 4-8 days give or take a few so no intercourse until your doc tells you can , i tell my pts after I have done that procedure nothing in vagina until 2 days after the discharge stops. ...Read more
Several: A smear / brush shouldn't hurt. A little local anesthetic is plenty for an incisional biopsy. A conization for attempted cure of preinvasive cancer is more but won't be nearly as annoying as a wisdom tooth and gives a strong likelihood of a cancer cure. Depends on what: Your doc sees and what your pap showed and how confident and good he is at doing the colposcopy and biopsy, i try to do the minimum which is one biopsy on the cervix and an ecc which is a small scraping of the endocervical canal the part that we cannot see, so the minimum is 2 but the max could be 5-6 and yoiu will bleed but your dco will use medicine to stop teh bleeding so u will have discharge. ...Read more
Depends on results: The asccp has guidelines available on line. If the biopsy was a high-grade lesion (cin2 or 3), then you would need a bigger biopsy. Usually, at least 6 months should pass before biopsy and the next pap. Alternatively, sometimes an hpv test is done after 12 months. Not horrible: The cervical biopsy is a quick outpatient often in office test that removes a sample of the cervix. Some gyn offer a block making the biopsy painless. Afterward there will be minor craping, small amount of blood or bloody discharge and really that's about all. The doctor will also ask you to abstain from intercourse until the cervix is healed. Chemicals: The cervix and vaginal area produce mucus when irritated. This causes a discharge while healing occurs. The biopsy frequently causes some bleeding and this is stopped by applying a chemical to the cervix. The blood, or the chemical, or a combination of both can give you a colored discharge. Usually 2-7 days: Give or take a few , but you will have a discharge and hopefully not much bleeding since your doc like I do will put some medicine the cervix to stop the bleeding so you will have discharge mixed with some blood approx 2-7 days , you should stop vit e, ginko biloba or Aspirin , etc. Before and if u have a clotting abnormailty you need to make sure your doc knows if u do. ...Read more
