I have a face wash that contains parabens. Is this bad to use on your face daily? how about ceramides and hyaluronic acid?
Safe generally: Parabens are stabilizers found in natural as well as manufactured products. They are only a problem if you are allergic to them. Before use of any product on the face, you can test them on the inside of the arm for 3 days. If no reaction, should be safe on face. Ceramides and hyaluronic acid help restore barrier, protective function in skin and are very safe on the face. ...Read more

Do NOT use oral clindamycin. When we need to get serious about acne topicals we use adapalene [soon to be OTC], tretinoin, and benzoyl peroxide. ...Read more

Topical steroids are very effective but on the face calcineurin inhibitors are preferred. Washing with a dandruff shampoo, typically in a shower, can be very beneficial. Depends!: Medications are neither inherently good nor bad. It's the (intent of) use that can make something "bad". Improper use, improper dose, improper frequency, improper route of administration can all make any "good" drug bad. Hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) used to lower blood pressure is a "bad" drug to lower cholesterol or cure strep throat b/c it does neither. Yet, it's a great drug for hypertension.
