More needed: Dietary supplements and vitamins can help but more importantly you need to find out WHY you are anemic. There are many reasons for anemia such as iron deficiency or possibly genetic causes. You need a thorough workup. Also what is your BMI? That may be more relevant than your absolute weight. Happy to discuss as a virtual consult. Best of luck! ...Read more

No: but I would avoid any product that contained FD&C colors (such as Yellow 6 Lake), as these are aluminum based. Please read the ingredients. Stannous Chloride is tin. Nickelous sulfate is nickle. I do not think these belong in a multivitamin. Titanium dioxide is also an ingredient. It has no nutritional value. Why is it in there? ...Read more
Centrum Silver: is better than nothing for health but in general over the counter multi's have just enough of each ingredient in them to make printing them on the label legal. Recommended daily allowances are also low. A good quality multi from a healthcare professional or a big name chain such as GNC can be helpful along w/a healthy diet and exercise level and rest. Peace and good health. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is 4000 mg of vitime d and one centrum silver pill a day to much vitime d will it raise calsum leavel ?
Not too much, no: Most adults need 5000-8000 iu of Vit D per day to attain optimal blood levels of 50-80. 4400 iu of D per day is quite safe. See http://tinyurl.com/2chkcer Vit D increases calcium absorption but doesn't affect serum calcium, which is controlled by the parathyroid gland. It's ideal to take Vit K with D. There are MUCH better multivits than Centrum silver-see http://tinyurl.com/mzrkbx8 and comment: ...Read more

It's not, but...: It's just vitamins. If your friend is given to acting-out by taking pills, next time it may be something that might actually hurt him/her. What to do if I have a friend who is 18 years old and is taking centrum silver 50+ please tell me if this is bad for him and how and why!!?
No: As far as vitamins go this will not hurt anyone. Most of the product ends up in the urine within 24 hours if the person is not vitamin deficient. It is not advertized as being formulated for his age group but with these products that does not matter. It is quite difficult for anyone to be vitamin deficient when healthy foods are readily available. Most people need no supplements anyway. ...Read more
Not the greatest: Centrum is better than some but i would never call it "high quality" as many of its ingredients are present in inadequate doses or in forms that are poorly absorbed (such as magnesium oxide) or proven to be unhealthy (such as synthetic vit e, artificial colors that contain toxic aluminum ; hydrogenated oils). There are many much better options- see http://bit.Ly/18xyule ; http://bit.Ly/1b36cq0. ...Read more
