Centipede: Wash the wound with water ; soap. You can take tylenol (acetaminophen) or an NSAID for pain. Antihistamines can be used for itching. Pain ; swelling are normal for centipede bites. However, if swelling is excessive or the skin is necrotic then you will need wound care. Check your tetanus status. Good job: If the swelling has went down and there are no large sores or wounds that are present you can watch it for now. Sometimes there are delayed reactions so keep a close observation of the area where you were bitten and if it should develop more swelling or increase in pain you should have it checked by a provider. No: Centipedes are not dangerous to humans and definitely can't cause labor. The most serious thing would be a local reaction at the site of a bite, if, in fact, the centipede bit you. You would know if you were having an allergic reaction to a bite as your skin would redden, possibly swell.
