This kind of pandemic occurs when there's a big change (antigenic shift) in the flu virus, so that no one has partial immunity. Mortality was also high because we had no anti-flu drugs and no antibiotics to treat complications. ...Read more

How has the number of unintended pregnancies per fertile woman changed in the united states over the past half century?
Trend is down: The overall statistics suggest a drop in this number. It is difficult to arrive at, because many who get pregnant and didn't want it, do not advertise that fact. Many of these are terminated which also skews the statistics. It is interesting that the percentage of pregnancies in single women are highest in the states termed "red" and much lower in the blue states. ...Read more
We are in the 21 century and no cure for fibromyalgia. Why? Are there recent researches for that horrible painful disease. Please tell me.
Wrong Theories: Clinical researchers are looking for virus, immune disorder, or genetic cause. To my mind, changes seen in these arenas are not causes, but are effects; except for joint hypermobility syndrome (inherited). The cause is primary pelvic girdle injury leading to tilted body & chronic & widely ranging muscle spasms. Since cause multivarient, cure is multivarient. True cause explained at quora. Com. ...Read more
Being used to spice rich curried food over the half century of my life now with high BP 140/90 I am advised to cut down on sodium and weight. How?
Only reduce salt if:: While on a average increased sodium increases the risk of heart disease, actually only about 25% of people will have reduced blood pressure by limiting sodium. Try a low-sodium diet for a week- see if it lowers BP ; if it goes up when you eat more salt then keep it low; for most it makes no difference. For weight loss I advise dr. Fuhrman's diet and exercise. See comment for links. ...Read more

Working on it: Fibromyalgia is a disease invented by a pharmaceutical company just 20 years ago or so. There is research being done on it. However, it's not one of the worst diseases by a long shot although it can be debilitating. Cancer, diabetes, & heart disease are far worse, affect many more people, & have existed for generations. No one ever died of fibromyalgia. Millions have died of the other 3. Good luck. ...Read more
