Maybe: Ssris may help with more than just pain in patients with fibromyalgia, namely, fatigue, anxiety. In fact, they may be more helpful for those symptoms than pain. On the other hand, snris (effexor, cymbalta) and tca (tricyclics - nortriptylin, amitriptylin etc.) do better than ssris alleviating the pain associated with fb. ...Read more

Which medication is more known for less fatigue, Zoloft (sertraline) or celexa? (it's for gad)

Fatigue from SSRI: It depends on the person. I have had patients complain of some sedation on both, depending on the dose, and also some anxiety from both. All in all, from my experience, i would say Celexa has slight more sedative effect than zoloft (sertraline). ...Read more

I take 3 pills at night, 1/2 hour apart. Protonix, (pantoprazole) celexa, junel 1/20. I have been feeling nausea, fatigue and reflux. Are these ok to take together?

Yes.: However, you may take them farther apart than half an hour. You can take the Protonix (pantoprazole) an hour before breakfast, the Junel after supper and the Celexa at bedtime. There is a warning about birth control pills in depressed individuals so make sure you tell your psychiatrist that you are on BCP. It will also help if you do not go to bed immediately after a meal. ...Read more

Maybe: St. John's (stjw) & savella (milnacipran) can increase norepinephrine & serotonin levels, while stjw can also increase Dopamine levels (at high doses it acts like an mao-i). Depending on your unique metabolic characteristics (and the presence of cyp450 inhibitors), you might experience symptoms of serotonin syndrome (increased heart rate, sweating, over active reflexes). Discuss doses with prescribing doc. ...Read more

What is better for anxiety, depression, fatigue, and insomnia? Prozac, remeron, (mirtazapine) or celexa? Or maybe other?

Depends on person: All of the medications you mention can be highly effective. It can take awhile to find the one that has the best benefit with fewest side effects. At present, it's trial and error. We have no tests to match person to best antidepressant--although that is an area under active study. ...Read more

My dr has just switched me from 15 mg of cipralex (lexapro) to 10 mg of celexa. He told me they are interchangeable, but i'm worried about withdrawl symptoms. I've tapered off Lexapro previously too quicky and know the w.D.'s involved. What should I do,

These : These two compounds are interchangeable but their potency is different: because of its more refined chemical composition and reduced protein binding, Lexapro (escitalopram) is considered to be approximately 4 times more potent than celexa. This means that 15 mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) is equivalent to approximately 60 mg of celexa. It appears then, that your Celexa dosage, which is 10 mg, may be low enough to cause some withdrawal symptoms. While this may not necessarily happen, a good strategy for you could be to contact your doctor and discuss your concerns as well as your previous experiences. ...Read more
