Cdt Blood Test
Maybe: The fecal occult blood test can be quite sensitive and may show blood in the stool from minor gastritis or esophagitis that is not significant. But, it could also be due to a large polyp or tumor so colonoscopy is always indicated when the fecal occult blood test is positive. Your primary doctor should be arranging this in the near future. ...Read more
Can pregnancy blood test give false negative. 3 days late, urine test negative and blood test negative too?
My metanephrine free urine was 51, blood test was 63, normetanephrine free urine 181, blood test 150- total urine 232, blood test 213. Normal?
Sounds normal if....: the upper limits for blood metanephrine and normetanephrine are 0.50nm/l and 0.90nm/l. Urinary levels are, respectively: Total 24 hr. metanephrine =1.3mg for urine; and total plasma ME+NME is less than 205pg/ml. It sound as though you're within the normal ranges, but depending on the units of measure, which vary from lab to lab and med ctr to med ctr., you may not. Meet w/ your endocrinologist. ...Read more
Timing: It is possible that the urine pregnancy test detected HCG that was in the urine even as a pregnancy was failing (impending miscarriage) but by the time a blood test was done, the miscarriage had already occurred and the levels of the HCG pregnancy hormone were cleared. Alternatively, it could have just been a false (+) urine pregnancy test. ...Read more

Erosive gastritis. h.pylori blood test positive, breath test positive, stool antigen test negative, biopsy negative. what to do ?
Treat it: The positive H. pylori antibody test is not a reliable indicator of current infection. The gold standard for H. pylori treatment is the gastric biopsy, and this is negative in this patient. However, I am impressed by the positive breath test and erosive gastritis. I would have expected stool antigen to be positive, as it mirrors the breath test. Given the discrepant results, treat the patient. ...Read more
Faint positive hpt w/ first morn urine, neg dr. Urine test later that day, blood test came back post. Why was drs urine test neg? Early testing?
Pregnancy tests: Blood tests are more sensitive than urine tests, especially in early pregnancy. First morning urine is usually more concentrated than urine produced later in the day. Eating and drinking can dilute the urine enough to cause a false-negative result. That is why the blood test is done for confirmation. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

If u had a early cdt lung blood test and out of six tests the mage4 was a little over cutoff and u are ANA positive 1:640 spec. Suggest cancer?
Autoimmune: I can't say much about the earlycdt test- it is not primetime at this time. To me, the test has to go through validity and quality control first and there is no a good clinical trial that backed up this test- i won't use it at this time. If you don't know how to interprete the result-it only creates anxiety &unnecessary test. You may have autoimmune disease-especially if you have symptoms. D/w md. ...Read more
