Does the CDC have the right to force people to get a vaccine?

Hi i was bitten by a cat. I got my first anti rabies vaccines and scheduled for 4 other vaccines. Does that mean if i completed the vac im free rabies?

Clarification: If concern for rabies is at stake i assume your 1st shot was human rabies Immune Globulin (hrig) which gives immediate antibodies until body can respond to vaccine by actively producing antibodies itself. On the same day you would also receive your first rabies series vaccine. Newer reccomendations are that three more doses normally given unless immune suppressed. Yes, to keep you well and safe. ...Read more

I would like some advice on delayed/selective vaccine schedule?

Avoid them: The standard schedule of vaccines is both safe and effective for infants and children. The spacing advised by Playboy bunnies and a few well meaning docs is cruel for no benefit. Good info can be found at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia vaccine information center. ...Read more

Am I still protected from hepatitis b if I didn't follow the vaccine schedule (off by 4 months)?

Am I still protected from hepatitis b if I didn't follow the vaccine schedule (off by 4 months)?

Hepatitis B vaccine: Yes. The hepatitis b vaccine, like other vaccines, trains your immune system to recognize hepatitis b virus as it enters your body and prevent it from infecting you and causing you illness or disease. Many vaccines have multiple doses spread over time to boost or strengthen your immune response. Delay left you less protected during that period but once you got dose 3, you are now fully protected. ...Read more
