Cbc Low Lymphocytes
Extreme fatigue and swollen lymph nodes. Checked out by surgeon. CBC: White blood cells in normal range, lymphocytes 53% ESR and CRP ok. No fever, I gained weight. Doctors say an infection. Ideas?

Not very much: The key is the absolute counts of lymphocytes and granulocytes. I often wish percentages weren't even reported. If the absolute counts of both types of cells are reasonably near the reference range, then don't worry about them; and even these numbers fluctuate wildly. It's more important that no abnormal types of cells are present. If your physician is not concerned, don't be either. ...Read more
Cbc results: low lymphocytes (15.7), high granulocytes 79.2, gr# 8.3, mchc low (32.4), MCV normal, RDW high (14.3), low mpv (7.7). Is this concerning?
Context: Without the proper context nothing can really be said about these results. ...Read more

Dear Doctor, I am 24 weeks pregnant. CBC test shows low Lymphocytes (15%). Do I need to worry? Do I have to do any further tests? Is it HIV +

Shottynodes neck, groin, and armpit for year. Cbc high neutrophils low lymphocytes norm WBC antibiotics 3xs (infected tooth). 2 chest x rays. Hodgkin?
Ask your doctor: Your doctor needs to guide you further. Unless the lymph nodes are bigger than 1-2cm, they are unlikely to be enlarged due to lymphoma/hodgkin disease. If there was cancer, they would be growing bigger with time. If they are getting bigger a biopsy of the node can be done and you will have your answers. But if they have not increased over the past one year, that is against the diagnosis of cancer. ...Read more

There may be no diagnosis. If you do not have any symptoms and the only abnormalities are the lab tests and chest CT, you may not have any disease.

Sir. What drug can I take if my differential count in CBC is abnormal, my lymphocyte is low and my neutrophil is high. Thanks.?
No drug: Sometimes, abnormal CBC differential can be a variation. If CBC differential is truely abnormal, we need to find out what the underlying causes are. Is it due to infection, inflammation or other blood conditions? Once we know the causes, we can treat them accordingly as indicated. No drug to treat numbers, and never treat numbers, TREAT PATIENTS. ...Read more
Is it normal that my lymphocytes are low end of normal range 1.033 with no symptoms for 3 months now. In past they were 1.5.rest of cbc normal. Thanks?
Common: You can have low lymphocyte count and be asymptomatic for a multitude of common reasons: stress, common cold, side effect of a drug as steroids, and others. Can go up to several months before it reverts on its own, if you do have symptoms, see your doctor, otherwise just observe, your numbers are fine, but why are you testing your blood that often to start with? . ...Read more
What would be a day or so of IV treatment do to CBC tests? Would it lower RBC and perhaps restore lymphocytes if low?
%lymphocytes is high (52%) and %immature granulocytes is low (38%) but rest of CBC is normal - should I be concerned? I am 65 y/o female.
Possibly but: But only if this is a persistent finding since the profile is also compatible with a current viral infection. I would repeat the test in a month. If the finding is similar, then you need to talk to your doctor re. Whether a hematology consult is needed. It would have been more informative if you had given us the actual WBC count instead of just a %. ...Read more
Cbc WBC always in the normal range 5.7 but noticed last few tests neutropolis and lymphocytes fluctuate alot especially lymphocytes near low normal?

Numbers are numbers: The rest of the story is needed, as these test result themselves don't mean anything... without hearing the rest of the story. One's regular doctor, who knows why a blood test was ordered and who has examined the patient, can be helpful here. Otherwise, these numbers are just numbers... could be anything, or could be nothing. Can use HealthTap PRIME to talk to a live doctor so resolve this issue. ...Read more

I am wondering what having a high % neutrophil count with a low % lymphocyte count means as every time I have a CBC done it shows this.
Absolute counts?: If both the absolute neutrophil count and the absolute lymphocyte count are within normal range, simply forget about it. It's you. Trust you are HIV negative. If the absolute lymphocyte count is below 1000, or the absolute neutrophil count consistently above 10000, a hematology consult might be in order. Glad you are proactive; best wishes. ...Read more
Neutrophil % high at 76.2% along w/ high neut. Absolute at 7.0, lymphocyte % low at 16.5% -- all other bloodwork (cbc) normal. What could this be?
Likely nothing to. .: Worry about if you are otherwise feeling well. Your total WBC count, based on the data you provide, is within the normal range. The modest left shift (ie., relative increased neutrophil %) could indicate an effort to address a mild bacterial infection. But more likely it's just normal variation. I do wonder what prompted the check to begin with? Additional details? ...Read more
Syphillis positive but bf neg. He's the only guy I've ever been with. Low absolute lymphocytes 708 range is 850 up on CBC test. Could it be lupus?
False pos test?: It sounds like you might have a biological false positive test, i.e. you don't really have syphilis. And it sounds like you might already know that false pos syphilis tests sometimes occur in lupus and other autoimmune diseases. This is a complex situation -- discuss with your doctor. See an infectious diseases or STD specialist if the positive test is confirmed as syphilis. Good luck! ...Read more

I am feeling fatigued in the evening, I done CBC, it shows low neutrophils i.E 39% also high lymphocytes i.E 49% what does that indicate?
May be viral source: Check your personal physician. With the information you gave there is a possibility of a viral infection. Lymphocytes usually protect us from viral infections, on the other hand, neutrophils protect us from bacterial infections. With viral infections, you will not need antibiotics. Most of time, viral infection symptoms will go away on their own, just rest well and keep a balanced healthy diet. ...Read more
