Will the paleo diet help me safely lose weight while breastfeeding? I was told breastfeeding would help me lose weight... That is not true for me.
Only if low calories: "dieting" is not needed, as long as the breastfeeding woman eats only as many calories as needed to maintain her normal (pre-pregnant) weight. For example, if she was 120 pounds before pregnancy and is now 145 pounds, she should eat just enough for a 120 lb woman. Caveman Diet: I think it easy to think of this way of eating as "there are a few foods to avoid" - everything else is 'ok'. No processed foods, no wheat and dairy, along with other grains and legumes (such as peanuts and beans). Other foods to avoid: potatoes, sugar, salt, vegetable oils like canola.
