Sounds like you: Have irritated you lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Causes a syndrome known as meralgia parasthetica. The nerve can get irritated by wearing a tight belt as it gets pinched at your waistline, a big belly that puts pressure on it or sitting forward for long periods of time. Dvt: I would repeat a lower leg ultrasound to check the status of the DVT, to make sure it is not growing in size and travelling up the leg. A DVT is dangerous and sometimes an IVC filter is needed to protect against lung embolism. Go to the ER and seek treatment. Blood thinners are also needed. ...Read more

Needs Evaluation: The blood clots from DVT are rarely completely dissolved after treatment and recurrences are not uncommon. Damage to the valves in the leg veins may also predispose to leg swelling. At any rate, if your are experiencing leg swelling you should be evaluated. Mild symptoms don't usually require a trip to the er. Call your primary care doc. ...Read more
