Possibilities: Hmm. Sticking to common problems, things to consider are a wrist sprain or Dequervain tenosynovitis which are both inflammation of ligaments/tendons. Other things in the differential would be: Carpal tunnel syndrome if there are symptoms of numbness, Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis if symptoms are more noticeable in the mornings.
