What causes a tingling pain originating from the lower back through the leg to the ankles?

What causes a tingling pain originating from the lower back through the leg to the ankles?

Sciaticia: There can be many reasons, but my first impression is a problem with the sciatic nerve, a large nerve coming out of the back, getting smaller and smaller until it ends in the feet. A neurosurgeon, orthopedist specializing in spine, or chiropractor may help you with this problem. Your primary physician may be able to recommend someone. Dr. Latva

If I have a pinched nerve in my lower back can that cause numbness and tingling in all 4 limbs and would it be worse in the morning?

If I have a pinched nerve in my lower back can that cause numbness and tingling in all 4 limbs and would it be worse in the morning?

Unusual: Lower back nerves generally do not relate to upper extremities. Arthritis frequently is worse in the morning. Sounds like a good neurological exam for numbness, weakness, neuropathies etc. Is in order.

Can lower back pain cause tingling in arms?

Can lower back pain cause tingling in arms?

No: No, not directly. Whatever is causing the back pain, may be causing issues elsewhere in the spine or nervous system, which may then result in symptoms in the arms.

I have recently been stressed out and sleeping an average of 6 hours a night which is way less than normal. Cause of lower back pain/tingling?

I have recently been stressed out and sleeping an average of 6 hours a night which is way less than normal. Cause of lower back pain/tingling?

See a dr.: 6 hours of sleep a night is on the lower end of the recommended range. I would suggest that you see your dr. To be evaluated. If you have been under severe stress or injured your back recently, it is possible that the back pain could be related. If you don't have a back injury then regular stretching and exercises to strengthen your core ; abdomen may help.

Pain in lower back above butt-right side. Standing causes pain in knee, tingling in foot/toes, numbness. History of tissue damage + curve of spine?

Needs evaluation: You are describing symptoms that suggest possibly some nerves are being pinched. Would suggest getting evaluated to determine the cause of your symptoms.

Maybe: Anxiety is certainly on the list of possible causes. As are many other possible diagnoses. If symptoms continue, best to see your doctor for evaluation of your symptoms. Sorry this was not more helpful. Best of luck with this. Let us know how things turn out. Dr. R

Can improper placement of needle & numbing agent in lower jaw cause temporary facial paralysis/tingling & severe pain in jaw, ear, neck & back of head?

Can improper placement of needle & numbing agent in lower jaw cause temporary facial paralysis/tingling & severe pain in jaw, ear, neck & back of head?

Anesthetic Block: An inferior alveolar nerve block of your lower jaw will anesthetize either your left or right side, making it feel numb and "paralyzed". Pain in your jaw, ear, neck, and back of head may be a reaction to the anesthetic, not necessarily due to improper technique. Since every issue was temporary, you should heal without incident. Discuss with your dentist.

Pinched nerve: Sounds like a pointed cervical nerve root from either a herniated disc or a bone spur. An MRI will clarify. See a spins specialist fro treatment and evaluation. Very common.

What could cause lower left side facial tingling?

What could cause lower left side facial tingling?

Lots of things: But of course, the most important of these would be either a stroke or TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Other things can also do it but if your symptom is brand new or relatively brisk an unrelenting in its onset (in other words it's not going away) then, you should pick up the phone after reading this and call 911. If this is in the past anymore then, call your doctor and get in to be seen.

Everytime someone helps me or does something nice I get this tingling tickle pleasurable sensation from my neck and whole back, explanation causes??

Everytime someone helps me or does something nice I get this tingling tickle pleasurable sensation from my neck and whole back, explanation causes??

The Pleasure center: In YOUR brain is connected to your neck which in turn is connected to your back and triggers what you've heard people talk about as that "warm fuzzy feeling inside." Personally, when I see a movie with a particularly emotional scene or a parent lamenting over their child with Cancer and break down...I get a tingly sensation in my nose. Strong emotions can provoke funny feelings of all types.
