Sciatica: You may have a condition called sciatica which occurs when the nerve going to your leg is pinched as it comes out of the spine to give the pain down the leg and back. Have your primary care doctor check it out to make sure your leg muscles are not getting weaker because of the nerve problem. This doctor can refer you to the appropriate specialist you need to see. Please get this checked out. Read more

Right arm nerve (?) pain last 5 days from elbow to pinky, more pain than tingling/numbness, left ankle has buzzing feeling on/off like blood flowing.?

Thots: Regarding right arm, sounds like possible nerve compression at elbow, consistent with a cubital tunnel syndrome affecting the ulnar nerve. Left ankle issue very nonspecific, and unable to interpret without more information. Best to see your doctor and get both addressed. Read more

Prognosis is good: First, am pleased to see that your neurologist has acted pre-emptively, and has used a potent and effective medication. Would advise you to also take Vit D supplements. The left ankle pain is likely within joint and maybe secondary to prior weakness, but could be caused by small fracture and needs X-ray. Physical therapy can provide a path to improvement. Work closely with your neurologist. Read more

How to remove a hard patch of skin on left ankle and causes?

How to remove a hard patch of skin on left ankle and causes?

WHAT IS IT?: The question is, is it nothing or is it something? Skin problems are really visual problems. Is it just callused skin, or something that needs a biopsy? Is the border choppy and irregular, color changes, size larger than head of pencil eraser, itch, drainage. Only by a doctor's exam can it be determined what to do next. My left ankle been poping in and out. What causes it do it. It don't heal. What does it take to heal it.?

Multiple answers.: This could be due to recurrent sprains of the lateral ligaments of the ankle creating the weakness and popping. If this has been ongoing for a long time, it may be your peroneal tendon popping in and out of a shallow groove around the ankle. If it is the latter, there is not much you can do. If it is due to a sprain, see your podiatrist for and ankle brace. Read more

Left hip and left ankle pain at dawn every night for the past week. No injury. What is the cause?

VERY HARD TO ANSWER: With no injury a hands on exam is needed. Could be due to phlebitis as a woman in your age group. Your PCP is a good place to start. More so if by the end of the day you have swelling of that leg. You would see imprints from sox, or shoes fitting tightly by end of the day. Good luck! Read more
