You can be worse during your menstrual cycle because of the extra fluid and pelvic congestion will add pressure to the nerves. The mouth pain, may or may not be related to saliva flow. Many people report a slight ache in the jaw right before they eat something that stimulates a strong saliva response. Though that only lasts for a couple seconds.
