Multiple things: An enlarged uterus can be caused by pregnancy, fibroids (benign muscular tumors of the uterus) or by adenomyosis which is where tissue from the lining of the uterus grows into the muscle wall causing it to enlarge, become "boggy", tender and may bleed more heavily. Are there any other possible causes of a thickened epidymis and pain on touch of the epidymis BESIDES epidymitis?
Doubt epididymitis: Even with a "thickened" epididymis with tenderness, epididymitis is unlikely. Most epididymitis causes enlargement and severe tenderness of the entire testicle. That said, if it feels abnormal, see a doctor. At your age, almost all epididymitis is due to gonorrhea or chlamydia. My swollen lymph node on side of neck is still swollen after 1 month. What's the chances of it being cancer and what are some causes of persistence?
Increased risk: Lymph nodes are where the body's immune cells congregate to gobble up all the nasty stuff in your body. Infections are the most common thing they go after. If a lymph node is swollen from fighting off an infection, it should clear up in about four weeks. If not, there is an increased chance that it may be cancerous. Your doctor can remove all or part of it (biopsy) to check for this. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
